How do I know if I have a starling problem?

If you think you’ve spotted signs of a problem with starlings, you’re in the right place. This quick guide to starlings will help you understand what you are dealing with.

The European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) can roost in the thousands on ledges, roofs and trees. Their droppings often erode pavements and create slippery conditions. They are also commonly found nesting in attics or lofts of homes using twigs and leaves to create large nests. They will typically lay 4 – 6 pale blue eggs in early April. These will take 11-15 days to hatch.

At Beaver we practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This is a sustainable approach to managing pests by combining biological, cultural, physical and chemical tools in a way that minimises economic, health, and environmental risks.
